A journey through the Bible- Mary Agronah

Looking at the street of Genesis, I beheld the Creator putting things together to create a beautiful world. I heard Him task humanity to be good and take care of the creation. Looking to mess up the way of the Creator was a fierce serpent who had been thrown down from Heaven. In no time, the serpent convinced the first inhabitants of the beautiful world to mess up. The Creator did not give up on His people and promised that the seed of the woman will bring redemption. Down the line humanity Exodus to different places… from the west to the east, from the north to the south and yet… I heard the Creator assigning Levitical priests over them and giving Numbers to those who could be counted. Then just before the people on the journey left the gates of Deuteronomy, Moses the servant of God handed them over to Joshua who conquered the nations and told the Judges to take charge of the people. Suddenly Ruth the Moabite came forth and down the line the Prophet Samuel was assigned 1st and 2nd letters to pass over to the 1st and 2nd Kings whose stories were also published by the 1st and 2nd Chronicles. Ezra and Nehemiah received the letters and decided to rebuild the House of God. However, Esther remained in Persia and through her the Creator delivered His people again from extermination. Job was in the Creator’s good books and was testified about in Heaven by the Creator Himself. Suddenly, the Psalms expressing different songs were written down and Solomon also write down Proverbs to put the people on track. After getting involved with 1000 women, Solomon saw the vanity in pleasure and penned Ecclesiastes. But, he got to know the love of the Creator and sung the Song of Songs… Oh how sweet is love.

A few years after that, King Uzziah died and Isaiah saw the Creator in His radiance. Jeremiah felt too young to speak but the Creator told him that: Before I formed you in the womb I chose you, before you were born I set you apart: I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” In awe, Jeremiah offered a Lamentation over the nations about the judgement of the Creator but they did not listen. As a result Ezekiel and Daniel were carried into exile but the Creator was gracious and He revealed Himself to them, promising them of a restoration. Hosea the prophet appeared earlier, but he stayed in the Northern Kingdom and warned the people to stay away from their sins if not their waywardness will lead to their punishment. Joel saw the Judgement of the Lord and hinted that when the people forfeit their sins and return to the Creator, He will pour His Spirit on all flesh. Amos was a shepherd in the South but the Creator sent him to the North to warn the people of their sins. The people did not listen so they were taken away but Obadiah remained to warn the remnant to be faithful because on Mount Zion there will be deliverance; it will be holy, and Jacob will possess his inheritance.” Jonah was sent by the Creator to warn the Ninevites of the judgement of God but Micah stayed in the South to warn them of the judgement of the Lord. Years later, Nahum spoke again about the judgement of the Creator on the Ninevites. Habakkuk pondered over all these and the Creator told him that “The Lord is in His holy temple; let all the earth be silent before Him. Zephaniah told the people to seek the Creator who is their mighty Warrior and Saviour. Through Haggai, the Creator told His people that the glory of the present house will be greater than the glory of the former house. Then Zachariah announced that “not by might nor by power but by my Spirit says the Lord.” Malachi ended the old covenant by promising the return of Elijah to turn the hearts of the parents to their children.

Hmmm…

Then for 400 hundred years, no prophetic word was heard. The people looked to the Creator and then…

Mathew recounted that the Creator kept His promise and the Messiah was sent to save God’s people. Mark was of the view that surely this Messiah is the Son of God! Luke emphasised that the Son of Creator was the true King of the world. John was awed and as he stood in wonder, he proclaimed: “The Creator so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” But, the people killed the Son only to find out that in death, the Son restores humanity to the Creator: that is the message of salvation. How can this message stay in Judea alone? No way!

Then running with the messages of the Gospel, the Acts of the Apostles recorded the impactful ministry of the church and the arrival of the Holy Spirit who was promised by the Son of the Creator. The message was sent to the Roman church. The Corinthian church received the 1st and the 2nd letters of the message. The Galatians started in power but they became foolish so they were reminded that the Ephesians, the Phillipians and the Colossians are reading the same letters about the Son of the Creator. Paul had to write the 1st and the 2nd letters to the Thessalonians and Timothy received the 1st and the 2nd letters about keeping up to the truth of the message about the Son of the creator. Paul later found Titus and explained to Titus that the grace of the Creator has appeared and the Creator offers salvation to all people. Philemon was admonished that because of the grace, he should forgive his runaway servant. In the letter to the Hebrews, the followers of the Son of the Creator are warned of the dangers of falling from the faith. The anonymous author makes it plain.. “Without faith, it is impossible to please the Creator.” James told the church, “show your faith by your works.” Peter had to write two letters. The 1st reminds the followers of the Son of the Creator to be holy and the 2nd warns them of the second coming of the Son of the Creator. John the elder wrote 1st, 2nd and 3rd John to remind the people to stay in faith and to encourage them that he is praying for all to go well even as the followers of the Son of the Creator anticipate the return of the Son. Jude the brother of James reminded the followers of the Son of the Creator to build up their most holy faith even as they wait for eternity through the Son of the Creator.

Suddenly, I saw an apocalypse and the angel told John the Apostle to write down the Revelation. The Son of the Creator is returning as a Judge and “Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.” Is your name in the book of life?

The Creator has been calling humanity to return to Him since humanity listened to the voice of the serpent in Eden’s Garden. If you hear my voice today, let it be made known that the Creator is still calling and the serpent is still messing with the hearts of people. But you have a choice… You can return to the Son of redemption or align with the serpent of destruction… What is your choice… As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
