Anyone who is among the living has hope!

Yesterday, my phone went black.  The screen got shattered  and had ink all over. I couldn’t see anything and I had two options; either to repair the broken phone (which is still on contract) or buy a new phone.  None of the options was expected and I had not budgeted for any.  However, after weighing the cost of the repair and the price of getting a simple replacement phone,  I chose the latter. I bought a  new phone but I cannot access any of the stored photos and videos.  I was sad. Then the person at the phone shop said, you can connect the old phone to a laptop and retrieve your photos and videos.  I was so relieved.  I have not tried it yet, if it doesn’t work, it will be taken as one of those things that cannot be retrieved. Anyone who is among the living has hope—even a live dog is better off than a dead lion! (Ecclesiastes 9:4) Imagine losing a human life! Unlike a phone,  it can be repaired or you can get a new one. However, not everything is repairable. For “it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation” (Hebrews 9:27‭-‬28). The teacher says in the book of Ecclesiastes (9:4) that, “Anyone who is among the living has hope–even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!” Jesus is coming to judge both the living and the dead (2 Timothy 4:1). None has a second chance after death.  We can only make it right with the Lord while we are alive.  Remember, none of our assets and qualifications have eternal value.  No one is buried together with houses and cars, and even if all your certificates and awards are buried with you, it will be chewed by rodents. The value of your soul cost God to send His begotten Son to die (John 3:16; Romans 6:23). The living has hope, the dead without Christ are hopeless. Make that choice now while you are alive.  Heaven is real and hell is real. Jesus is coming soon. There is no repair shop in the land of the dead to fix you back to the land of the living.  Be ready!  Read these verses to help you understand what God has done for us.  John 1:12; John 3: 16, Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Romans 5:8; Roman 10: 9-10.
