I remember the title of the first message I preached at Secondary school. It was an APOSA meeting and my message was titled THE SUFFICIENCY OF GOD’S GRACE. Even at about 14 years, one thing stood out for me, the Lord is enough for me. In our prayers, we are quick to call God El-Shaddai (God Is Enough). But, is God enough for us? Do we crave God’s presence daily? Do we desire to be with God all day? If God’s grace is not sufficient for you, nothing will! But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. (2 Corinthians 12:9) Paul was a man called by God’s grace to be an apostle to the gentiles. He went through so many hardships for the sake of the gospel. He even had a thorn in his flesh that buffeted him. Three times Paul pleaded with the Lord to take it away from him. “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me (2 Corin. 12:8-9). Paul was not ashamed to boast about his weaknesses because God’s grace was sufficient for him. The sufficiency of God’s grace makes us perfect even in our weaknesses. We are made whole because El-Shaddai is enough for us. He completes our weaknesses and makes us whole. The fact that we are able to stand trying times and still not be shaken is an indication that El-Shaddai is working for us. Today, if you feel incomplete because of a thorn in the flesh, know that El-Shaddai is enough for you. He will keep you perfect and He will make you whole. Therefore, let that encourage you to stand firm in the Lord. Worship the Lord with me! Christ is my reward And all of my devotion Now there’s nothing in this world That could ever satisfy Through every trial My soul will sing No turning back I’ve been set free Christ is enough for me Christ is enough for me Everything I need is in You Everything I need Christ my all in all (Hillsong)
