When someone decides to buy a house or to build one, there are usually specific houses or plans that are considered. Imagine if you were to put up a house from scratch and you do not have any plan, the building might just come up as shabby because of the lack of architectural design. In the same way, every manufacturer has a design and plan for every product that is introduced into the market. Do you think you were born by accident? Do you think you are just a fraction of the world’s population and that your presence makes no difference? Definitely no! Our Creator has a masterplan for all of us. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11) As we as humans will count the cost involved before putting up any new projects, our Heavenly Father heaven also has a masterplan for our lives. For the next few days, we shall consider God’s plan for us. The people of Israel were exiled in Babylon and while they remained in Babylon, their hopes and dreams were dashed. They thought it was all over for them. However, even in exile, the Lord had a plan for His people. Though their sins led them to exile, God still had plans to prosper them and not to harm them, plans to give them hope and a future. It is important to know that at every season of our lives, God has a plan for us. God’s plan is His perfect will for our lives. We should desire to know His perfect will, not His permissive will. For example, God’s perfect will was to give Abraham and Sarah Isaac. But when the couple introduced Hagar and Ishmael was born, that was in God’s permissive will. We all know the story of Abraham and Sarah’s action. Never go to God with your own plans desiring Him to give you approval. If you persist, God will allow you to have what you want but you will ultimately miss out on His perfect plan for your life. We shall identify some of the ways we can seek God’s plan for our lives as we progress with this study. Happy New Month! May we be empowered to know God more and to walk in His perfect plan for our lives. May the peace of God be with us in Jesus’ name. Amen!
