He is the way, the truth and the life!

Relocating often meant discovering new ways to new locations. My first experience of almost getting lost in a foreign country happened in August 2013. I boldly led two other international students and in my attempt to show them the mall, I ended up meandering all over the city until we finally arrived at the mall. Few months later, after I had discovered the route to the mall, I laughed at myself for wasting precious time all in the name of discovering the way. In the same way, many people have wasted time and resources in their attempt to find the way to God. Different ways and means have come up and different approaches have been proposed. However, there is just one way and that is Jesus. Missing the way to the Father means spending eternity at the wrong destination. It is fatal! Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6) In the spirit and celebration of Easter, we should ponder on the work Jesus did for us. One of the gospel approaches to soul winning is the Bridge method. This method identifies that we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Rom. 2:23). The way back to get to the presence of God is through Jesus Christ (Acts 4:11-12). Jesus Himself states that, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Jesus is the truth: there are many other ways but Jesus is the only way that leads to God the Father. Life is found in Jesus: in Him is the living water to life (John 4:10). Until a person identifies the way, the truth and the life, the destination of that person is not to the Father. Knowledge of this should cause us to share God’s love this Easter. There are many people who are on the wrong ways and are so sure that they are heading to the Father. If Jesus is not the bridge, you are going nowhere. Let us be mindful to share the love of God with the people around us. We should be generous enough to tell our friends and family about the way, the truth and the life. When Philip found Jesus, he told Nathaniel, “come and see”. Nathaniel was led to Jesus through Philip. This Easter, let us invite our friends and family to Easter activities at church; invite people for dinner or lunch and share with them the gospel message. Remember, there is no access to the Father without the Son. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Let us remember and pray for opportunities to be able to share the love of God with those around us.
