They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the king of Israel!” (John 12:13) Jesus before His arrest and subsequent death entered Jerusalem as a triumphant king. The people took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the king of Israel!” (John 12:13) “Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, as it is written: “Do not be afraid, Daughter Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a donkey’s colt.” (John 12:14-15) As we remember the event that is globally celebrated as Palm Sunday, may we take this opportunity to honour our King and our Lord. Jesus triumphantly entered Jerusalem, and though He was condemned to death, it was God’s will that the death of Jesus will ransom us back to God. Today, we can boldly proclaim that “we are free”. Hosanna to the Lord.
