The armour of God

Every soldier is identified by the uniform. In battles, soldiers are equipped with the right armoury so that they are protected against the missiles of the enemy. If a soldier goes to the battle ground unprepared, the enemy might destroy the soldier on the first attempt. This world is a battlefield and even as we have identified that we have the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness, we should know that these two kingdoms do not dwell together in unity. There is a constant battle as the devil is daily scheming on devouring the believer. We need the right armour each day to stand up to the devil’s schemes. Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. (Ephesians 6:11) In my book A TRIP TO FOREDEN, I illustrated the journey to the unknown land as a battlefield and the need to use the gifts of the king (armour) to be able to stand up to the opposition. As believers, we need to put on the full armour of God “for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12). There is a battle between the unseen powers and the armour that does not represent physical regalia that we need to wear but spiritual readiness and preparation for the battle. Paul through the Holy Spirit admonished the Ephesians church to “put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand” (Ephesians 6:13). We will consider each armour in the next few days. We will identify what each armour represents and how we can use that armour as believers. Remember, the devil does not play, neither does he waste time when it comes to the battle over light and darkness. He uses different strategies to trap unsuspecting victims. We do not want to be unaware of his ploys. Let’s learn together and prepare ourselves to share with others as well. No soldier goes to the battlefield unprepared. Be aware of what to do so the devil does not take you unaware. Let us be kind enough to share. God bless you.
