The attitude of Gratitude

Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”(Luke 17:18-19)

I have an undisputed belief that the ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE TAKES ONE TO THE NEXT ALTITUDE!. I had my first virtual book launch on October 3rd 2021 for my book A TRIP TO FOREDEN. I was amazed by the way things went by God’s grace. More importantly, I was amazed by the family and friends who committed one hour of their Sunday to support me. As I bless God for His mercy and grace, I am also filled with gratitude for all who joined me to celebrate this important day of my life. To everyone who joined my virtual book launch from all over the world, I really appreciate you. God bless you always.

How do you respond to the gifts and blessings you receive?

When we receive gifts and blessings from others, our attitude should be to show gratitude. When we show gratitude, it denotes our appreciation of the service rendered unto us. In the book of Luke, the Bible records the healing of 10 lepers by Jesus. These 10 lepers cried to Jesus to be made whole. Jesus healed them all. However, “one of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan” (Luke 17:15‭-‬16). Where were the nine?

The Samaritan showed gratitude for his healing and as such Jesus took him to the next altitude: “And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole” (Luke 17:19 KJV). The level of healing was received by all the 10 lepers but the level of being made whole was given to the one who showed gratitude. As believers, we should desire to show gratitude to everyone who helps us irrespective of age and position. No matter the nature of help or support we receive, we should never forget to give thanks.

No one wants to roll with an ingrate. Certainly not me! Those who refuse to appreciate the little given unto them will be denied much. One way we demonstrate our gratitude to the many blessings bestowed on us by God is to use our gifts and talents to bless the world. Do you remember the parable of the talent? (Matthew 25: 26-30). The one who received one talent buried his talent. He did not even show gratitude by depositing it in the bank. His attitude made the master furious. The Message Bible put it this way: ‘That’s a terrible way to live! It’s criminal to live cautiously like that! If you knew I was after the best, why did you do less than the least? The least you could have done would have been to invest the sum with the bankers, where at least I would have gotten a little interest. “‘Take the thousand and give it to the one who risked the most. And get rid of this “play-it-safe” who won’t go out on a limb. Throw him out into utter darkness.’ (Matthew 25:26‭-‬30 MSG).

Give thanks, show your appreciate, be a gratitude filled person.

I use this opportunity to appreciate everyone who turned up for my book launch. My family appreciates your support, love and commitment to our ministry. May the Lord of Heaven prosper all your ways in Jesus name.
