This is God’s will for you!

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18) The birth of Jesus brought joy to the world. One of the ways the devil fights believers is to take joy out of the life of a believer. Sadness causes depression and can lead to permanent mental health issues. Jesus is aware that in this world we will face many troubles. But, He says that we should be of good cheer for He has overcome the world (John 16:33). Let us put the garment of joy on daily, it is God’s will for us to rejoice. Paul admonishes us to “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4) Jesus taught us that men ought to pray all the time. Using the parable of the poor widow and the unjust judge, Jesus shows to us that we should never give up praying. In the parable, the unjust judge decided to help the widow because of her constant appeal. Our God is a just God! “And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly (Luke 18:6b‭-‬8a). Therefore, never cease praying but “call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3). Thanksgiving is an attitude that should flow from all believers. Thankfulness to God should flow naturally irrespective of the circumstance we face. We should develop an attitude of gratitude to God. Sometimes, the issues of life may cause one to feel bitter and lose focus on thankfulness. However, God’s will for us in Christ Jesus is to give thanks in all circumstances. When we come to this realization, we know the good, the bad and the ugly circumstances are all working for our good. Afterall, all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose (Rom. 8:28). Dear God, thank You that Your will for me is an abundant life full of joy, divine communication and thankfulness. I am grateful for all You have provided for me to live this God-life. Amen.
