Treat others with love and respect.

Luke 6:31 “And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise” Luke 6:31

How would you want others to treat you? Would you want others looking down on you, treating you with contempt, deceiving you with cunning lies and stealing from you? Or do you expect others to be forgiving and compassionate to you, showing you kindness and treating you with love, respect and honor? In Luke 6:31, our dear Lord Jesus gives us a key principle of life:

“DO TO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD LIKE THEM TO DO TO YOU” NLT

The truth is that people will treat you the way you treat others.  If you are hostile towards others, you should expect a bunch of hostility from others, who may not necessarily be the same people you were hostile towards. On the other hand, if you keep doing good and are kind to others, even when those you were kind to repay you with evil, your goodness and kindness will draw others to treat you the same. In fact, you will be unfair to expect others to be so compassionate to you when you are not compassionate to others. This is a very simple, unambiguous and clear principle.

From today, make up your mind that you would walk in love and ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen you to do so.
