Trust in the Lord with all your heart

One of the common issues causing divorces in our days is the issue of trust. Many couples have struggled with each other because one person’s action broke the trust the other had for the person and this broken trust ends up leading to separation. If trust was a currency, it would have been the most expensive currency of our day. In fact, sometimes, the people who seemingly need help, will be the ones plotting evil for their helpers. What a world! Few years ago, I heard stories of women who pose as pregnant women in need of transportation and when a driver stops to assist, their gang emerges from nowhere, harms the driver and takes the car away. Who do you trust? Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6) In the midst of these societal issues, we also identify that most politicians in developing countries exploit the same poor people who vote them into power. Instead of making life better for their people, they tend to increase the load of poverty while they and their families live in affluence. The list goes on and on. Trust is missing in most communities and people have turned hostile when they should be loving. However, all hope is not lost. We should know where to channel our trust. Scripture is clear that we should trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding. When we put our trust in God, we give Him the first place in our lives and He will definitely take us places. When we trust in God, we should also submit all our ways to Him. God will direct our paths when we submit our ways to Him. Remember, submitting to God implies that before any decision is made, you will have to know what God’s word says considering that decision. God doesn’t want us to live anyhow, and neither should we expect God to approve all our decisions. If we trust Him with all our hearts and we are not leaning on our own understanding, we should allow God to prune our choices and to lead us to where He wants us to be. Don’t expect God to rubber stamp every choice you make. If you trust Him, let Him lead the way! Remember, God does not have trust issues, put your trust in Him and He will see you through. Trust Him and He will come through for you!
