Who needs Repentance

Matthew 4:17 “From that time Jesus began to preach and to say “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” Matthew 4:17

In Matthew 4:17, Jesus states emphatically, “REPENT, FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS [NEAR] AT HAND”

Everyone of us, whether Christian or non-Christian needs repentance. It is a deception for a Christians to believe they do not need repentance. Just in case anyone thinks he or she does not need repentance, I invite you to take this exercise: In your quiet time today, sincerely ask the Holy Spirit this question “What are the things in my life I need to repent of?”, then be still and wait for His feedback.

Everyone of us has many things going on in our lives that we need to repent of. Most people either turn a blind eye to them or even justify them with statements such as “no man is perfect” or “I am just smart”, etc.

But the question is does God overlook any sin in a man’s life? CERTAINLY NOT! Even the closest of friends to GOD will not be left unpunished when an unrepented sin is found in their lives.

To my dear friend who have not yet committed to Jesus, the sin God charges you with is that you do not believe in Jesus.

John 16:8-9 “When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: ABOUT SIN, BECAUSE PEOPLE DO NOT BELIEVE IN ME"

Accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is your biggest repentance. What does it mean to accept Jesus into your life? It means the following:

1. Sincerely acknowledge that you have called God a liar by not believing in His Son Jesus Christ (1 John 5:10) and sinned against God and is deserving of God's wrath

2. As for forgiveness and

3. Invite Jesus Christ into your life by saying this prayer

"Dear Jesus, today, I acknowledge my wrongs. Today, I confess that you are Lord and I believe God raised you from the dead. In Jesus name I pray" (Romans 10:9-10)

After praying this prayer, be assured that you have began friendship with the LORD Jesus. Reach out to us on medgronah2016@gmail.com for free resources and tools that you can use to develop your friendship with him. Also check up our disciples training course online here.

To my dear Christian friend, you need to search and clean up your life today. There are many things in your life God might be displeased of which require your repentance.

One of the most effective fastings and prayers I have ever done was when I decided to seek the Lord concerning my life, asking Him to search my life for any sin in my life. This kind of fast always yields results. Today, ask the LORD to search your heart and to show you things that you need to repent of. Take these things seriously, ask for help and make a deliberate intention to STOP them and REPLACE them with what God desires. Remember, GOD will leave no sin unpunished.

Exercise

1. Make a list of things you need to repent of

2. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit for strength to stop them

3. What things would you do practically to stop these sins? For example, if watching profane things is the problem, a possible step is to delete certain apps on my phone, subscribe to the software covenant eyes (https://www.covenanteyes.com/), which blocks profane images from your devices.
