Your new life!

Imagine being a recipient of a body part transplant. On a daily basis, you are reminded that someone has sacrificed to give you a new lease of life. Having someone’s heart or liver does not mean you don’t have control over yourself but it is a daily reminder that someone is living in you. You tend to constantly appreciate this person, whether dead or alive for the sacrifice they have made and you look for opportunities to bless the person or his family. But wait, have you ever considered the fact that you have the fullness of Christ dwelling in you? I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.(Galatians 2:20) Remember, when we come to Christ, we become a new creation. The old self is gone and Christ makes His abode in us. Of course you still possess your human body but, the death and resurrection of Christ has given you a new lease of life that is not under the dominion of Satan and regulated by sin. You have been crucified with Christ and you no longer live, but Christ lives in you. Therefore, the life you live in the body, you live by faith in the Son of God, who loved you and gave Himself for you (Galatians 2:20). This should lead you to the new life that pleases the one who has given you life. After a body transplant, the recipient is given specific medical requirements and rules to ensure that their new body part functions correctly. For some people, it will mean beginning to do something new and for others, it will mean to stop certain old habits. When you realize that it is Christ living in you, it regulates your life. Some old habits have to be stopped and some new habits have to be introduced. Can you list some of the old habits that will have to go away for Christ to fully dwell in you? What should you be doing if Christ is living in you? Remember, if you are still the lord of your life, Christ is not living in you. When you identify this truth, your attitude should be… Simply devoted to you oh Lord I lose my life to follow You The life that I live is not I that live For me to live is Christ
